STCW Upgrade engine officer without sea time 66h
Engine officers who do not have 12 months’ valid sea time within the last five years.
Personal life-saving appliances, water survival, take charge of a survival craft or rescue boat during and after launch, operate a survival craft engine, manage survivors and survival craft after abandoning ship, use locating devices, including communication and signalling apparatus and pyrotechnics, minimize the risk of fire, use of fire extinguishers and fire-fighting appliances, control fire-fighting operations aboard ships, organize and train fire teams, inspect and service fire-detection and fire-extinguishing systems and equipment, investigate and compile reports on incidents involving fire, general first aid principles, bleeding, burns, shock, providing immediate first aid upon encountering an accident or other medical emergency. The final topic includes the ship medical chest, physiology and anatomy, toxicology, patient examination, spinal injuries, fractures, medical care of rescued persons, Radio Medico, pharmacology, sterilization, cardio-pulmonary resuscitation and psychology.
Participant must have successfully completed training in accordance with the STCW code’s tables for basic safety training A-VI/1, 1-2, 1-3, 1-4 and advanced safety training tables A-VI/2-1, A-VI/3, and A-VI/4-1.
